Our Audit Process

An audit that finds the risk, and sees it through to a fix.

A BRIGS audit is not a report that ends up on a shelf. We walk your site with trained safety eyes, record every finding in the same structured way, organise it under our eight pillars, and stay with you through your review, implementation and maintenance.

Our Expertise

Two kinds of expertise behind every audit.

Whether we are looking at a machine, an energy source or a whole process, every audit combines the safety expertise to see the risk with the compliance expertise to measure it against the standards that apply to you.

engineering

Our safety expertise

Trained safety eyes, on your plant.

  • check Risk assessment of every machine, finding where people can reach hazardous motion or energy
  • check Guarding and interlock design matched to the risk, not to a template
  • check Energy sources identified and isolation points defined for lockout / tagout
  • check Process hazards examined, with deviations, safeguards and changes understood
  • check Not just what is wrong, but why it can happen
verified

Our compliance expertise

Measured against the standards that apply.

  • check LOTO to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147
  • check Machine safety to ISO 12100, ISO 13849 and IEC 62061
  • check Process safety to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119, with HAZOP and LOPA
  • check Alongside your own site standards
  • check Records you can audit against: risk assessments, test records and inspection schedules
Eight Pillars

Every finding is organised under our eight pillars.

Our audit is built on the House of BRIGS, the framework for an Efficient, Safe and Productive workplace. Each observation we record is tagged to the pillars it touches, so findings, recommendations and results stay organised, and nothing is looked at in isolation.

The Observation

One finding, fully described.

An audit is a series of observations, one for each place we look. Each starts with photographs and is recorded the same way: what kind of finding it is, where it is, what equipment and process are involved, who is exposed, and which pillars it touches. That is what makes findings comparable across your whole site.

From Audit to Action

From the first walkthrough to sustained safety.

An audit isn’t a report that ends up on a shelf. It is the first step of a path that runs through your review, implementation and maintenance, with the same team accountable throughout.

  1. map01

    Map the site

We set up the audit with your site details and map its layout, floors and sections, so every finding has a place.

  2. pageview02

    Observe

We walk each location and record an observation: photographs, audit type, pillars, who is affected, and the equipment and process involved.

  3. lightbulb03

    Recommend

For each observation we specify a solution from our materials catalogue, with quantities, and show it on your own photograph.

  4. forum04

    Review together

You get a secure link to review every recommendation: approve it, comment, or ask for a change. Every revision is tracked.

  5. construction05

    Implement

Approved work is grouped into installation packages with tool and manpower checklists, and each item is recorded with proof of execution.

  6. autorenew06

    Maintain

Completed work is photographed and on record; audits are scheduled and procedures updated as equipment changes.

From the first walkthrough to the last audit, one accountable team.

Next step

Let’s start with a walkthrough of your plant.

Tell us a little about your site and we’ll help you see where an audit should begin — LOTO, machine guarding, process safety, or all three.
